Dean Spasser, a St. Louis veteran of the mail order business says that for most products, classified advertising offers the best value for invested dollar.  He used classified advertising almost exclusively for years when he operated American Publications, a St. Louis based successful legitimate source for work from home opportunities.

Dean Spasser points out that it may be counter intuitive but suggests that you want to advertise in classifieds ads where your competition is, not be a lone ranger. He says the rationale works in a analogous way as fast food restaurants, as they want to locate next to each other.  Dean Spasser points out that when you find a publication with other classified ads for products similar to the product you are marketing, that means the publication is probably productive. He says, legitimate work from home ads always pulls best from publications with similar ads already in the column. You also want to check back issues of the same publications to see if the same advertisers are there. If they are, it's another positive sign that the classified ads, there are working.

Dean Spasser advertised his work from home products in each issue of the same targeted publications for years during the successful operation of American Publications in St. Louis, MO.
